DO I NEED TO JOIN IN ORDER TO COME HANG OUT?

No, you do not need to join the club in order to come hang out. We welcome anyone who loves cars and wants to be a part of a community of like-minded people where we can answer all your questions about membership. We will be happy to have you come and check us out!

ARE THERE ANY EXCLUDED CARS?

All cars are welcome in our club. We are all about celebrating the love of cars, and there is no such thing as a "bad" car. Whether you have a classic car, a muscle car, a sports car, a luxury car, or a family car, you are welcome in our club!

DO I HAVE TO BE A VETERAN?

No, you do not have to be a veteran to join the Bastrop Area Cruisers car club. The club is open to anyone who loves cars and wants to be a part of a community of like-minded people.

Car Show Specific FAQ's

  1. When and where is the BAC Heroes and Hot Rods Car Show?

    • Veterans Day in November, Downtown Bastrop.  The car show will be held on Main, Pine, Spring and Water Streets.

  2. What time does it start?

    • The gates open for parking at 7:30AM for pre-registered entrants.  Cars need to be parked by 10:00AM. Judging begins at 10:30AM and concludes by 1:00PM.  Awards are handed out at 3:00PM.  Show ends at 4:00PM.

    • Veterans procession down Main Street to the County Courthouse starts at 10:30AM.  Veterans ceremony at the Courthouse ends at 11:30AM.

  3. How do I register for the car show?

  4. How many cars can be registered for the show?

    • 400 pre-registered vehicles will be allowed. There is no day of show registration.

  5. Can you register a vehicle for the show at the gate on the day of the show?

    • No.  Only pre-registered vehicles can be parked and displayed at the car show.

  6.  When does registration close for the show?

    • Registration closes when 400 entries have been accepted.  Notice of the registration closure will be posted on the club webpage.  Also, the online registration services will be shut down as soon as our limit is reached.

  7. What’s the cost to enter?

    • $35 which includes your T-shirt that can be picked up at the show.  

  8. Is there an admission charge for spectators?

    • No.  Spectators are free to enjoy the car show.

  9. Will trophies be awarded?

    • Yes.  There are 29 judged classes with a maximum of three awards per class.  There will also be several special and sponsor awards presented.

  10. How early can I park my vehicle?

    • Gates open at 7:30AM.  We ask you not to arrive too early for the show.  No one will be allowed into the show area until 7:30AM.

  11. Can I reserve a parking space?

    • No.  Parking is first come, first served.  There are no reserved parking spaces.

  12. Can I park with friends or members of my car club?

    • Yes.  To park together you must arrive together to be able to be parked in the same area.

  13. Can I park a trailer on the show grounds?

    • No.  We need to maintain a safety corridor for emergency vehicles and cannot accommodate trailers on the show ground premises.  We do provide two areas outside the show perimeter for trailer parking.  Vehicles can be unloaded at those trailer parking areas and driven into the car show.   

  14. Can I park my car in a show spot the night before?

    • No.  Any vehicles parked in the show area past midnight the night before will be towed at owners expense.

  15. How do I get to the event?

    • A map of the show area is provided on the car club website.  It indicates when and where you can enter the event.  Also, instructions will be sent to you via email on how to enter the car show with your vehicle.

  16. Are displays allowed?

    • Yes, but display boards should be kept to a reasonable size and not impede pedestrian traffic when set up.  No external sound systems or generators are allowed.

  17. Will I get a confirmation of my registration?

    • Yes.  You will be sent a confirmation to the email address you use when registering online.  You will need to bring a copy of the confirmation email to the car show gate as proof that you have registered for the car show and to gain entry to the parking areas.

  18. Can I bring a different car to the show than the one I originally registered?

    • Yes.  If you contact the club before the registration documents are sent off to the printers, we should be able to change your vehicle registration details.  Please email the us at bastropareacruisers1@gmail.com to request a vehicle change.   If you miss the printer deadline, you can bring the alternate vehicle to the car show for viewing but not judging. 

  19. When do I have to move my vehicle out of my show spot?

    • The show ends at 4:00 p.m. Saturday. The city reopens the streets to the public at 5:00 p.m. If you need to leave before the end of the show, please let the parking staff know when you arrive and you will be placed on a parimeter space. For public safety Main Street and Spring Street parked cars cannot leave before the end of the show.

  20. If I decide not to come to the car show, can I get a refund?

    • No.

  21. If I can't attend, will you mail me a shirt?

    • No.  You must pick up your shirt at the show registration area the morning of the event.

  22. Will the event be rescheduled for rain?

    • No, this event will occur rain or shine. It will not be rescheduled.

  23. What are the rules for the Friday cruise in?

    • No Specific rules other than all attendees need to remove vehicles before midnight per the order of the City of Bastrop.

    • Friday Night Cruise-in is a Pre-Show Event that is scheduled the day before the Veterans Weekend Car Show and Parade. It serves many purposes. Allows show attendees and registered entries a chance to check out the area, the venue, and know where to start the next day’s activities.

    • Helps the Bastrop business merchants with extra store and restaurant traffic. It's FUN for all attending and is totally FREE with no entry fees. Helps the club parking team members learn.

    • Cars will enter from Chestnut on to both north and south Main Street. Only Main Street will be used for the cruise in. Cars can begin entering at 4:00 pm on Friday. First Come - First served.

  24. Are there Hotels available: 

    • Yes, See Website: There will be links for our partner hotels and rates for show participants.

  25. Are there any spots available for vendors?

    • Yes.  There is a limited amount of vendor spaces at the event.  Please email the car club at bastropareacruisers1@gmail.com for information on vendor spaces. Vendors are only for car related products. Becoming a Sponsor entitles you to a vendor space.

  26. Can I become a sponsor for the event?

  27. Can I post "For Sale" information on my car?

    • Yes, personal sale of your car is acceptable. Promotion of a business selling cars is not acceptable.

  28. What is the judging point system?

    • There are 29 judged classes. Judging is a 70-point system based on appearance of the vehicle: Interior 25 points, Exterior, 25 points, and Engine 20 points.  Judges will not give you your score or the scores of other vehicles.  Scores will not be provided after judging.  Judges cannot open hoods, trunks or doors and lack of access will affect your scores. Feel free to describe anything special about your vehicle to the judges. This is done by Approximately 15 teams, comprised of 2 volunteer judges per team.

  29. NOTE, No burn outs allowed. This will earn you a lifetime ban.
